May 2013- snow?!?

well this is something to see on May 2nd! We just had dinner out there the other night! spring finally sprung! After a good foot of snow less than a week ago, we’re sitting here with grass greening up & absolutely gorgeous weather. We’re working on projects like the fences coming down, getting re-situated into the new turkey grazing paddock, general farm clean up and setting up the pigpen. 11/2011 snow and Bubster BBQ

sunday journal November 13th We got a nice layer of snow on Thursday! The bedroom in the morning was unusually bright with the reflective light. Beautiful white fluff covered the whole farm, including the hoophouse. It was mild out, clean and lovely. I’m SO ready for this time of year. This has been a killer of a year. Chapter 1 – Winter, South Dakota 1985

I have on my snow pants and giggle at the sound the polyester makes as my legs move down the porch stairs. My 3 year old little sister and I climb over the monstrous snow drifts towards the derelict red barn.  The bright white sun reflecting off the glistening snow is almost painful. My cheeks feel cold and hot all at once.
